This video features an interview by Aliran with Nour Ammar Murtaja, a Palestinian student from Gaza currently pursuing a master’s degree in Malaysia.

The discussion provides a first-hand human perspective on the ongoing genocide and its personal toll.

Nour shares the reality of growing up in Gaza under years of blockade and attrition, contrasting it with the devastating impact of the genocide, which destroyed her home and resulted in the loss of 15 of her family members.

Despite the trauma, Nour emphasises the importance of continuing her education in Malaysia as a way to rebuild her life and support her surviving family members.

The interview highlights the plight of her remaining family, including her injured mother and her late brother’s orphaned children, and her desperate efforts to advocate for their safety

Interviewer: Aliran honorary secretary Magdaline Pereira and Tong Veng Wye, an Aliran member who is also with Palestine Solidarity, Penang
