Why Barisan Nasional won the Johor state election

At the recent Johor state election, Barisan Nasional secured 40 out of 56 seats for a two-thirds victory.

Pakatan Harapan won 12 seats, Muda one and Perikatan Nasional three.

This was the third thumping defeat in a row for PH and its allies after losses in Sarawak and Malacca.

BFM speaks to Kevin Zhang, a research officer with the Malaysian studies programme at Iseas-Yusof Ishak Institute. They take a closer look at the results and discuss what they could mean for our future political landscape.
