Trump shows photo from Congo as proof of ‘white genocide’ in South Africa

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa’s visit to the Oval Office changed tone rapidly when US President Donald Trump ambushed him with videos, images and articles allegedly proving the existence of a “genocide” against white Afrikaner farmers in South Africa.

But Trump misrepresented the articles and the contents of the videos shown, showing a photo from the Democratic Republic of the Congo as South Africa, as well as claiming years-old footage as current or sharing it out of context.
