Tracking political appointments: Who holds the power?

The Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs has launched a platform, Pantau Kuasa, designed to monitor political appointments in federal statutory bodies and government-linked companies.

To explore the political appointments to these companies, BFM speaks to Nur Zulaikha Azmi, research executive at Ideas; Dr Edmund Terence Gomez, a former professor of political economy; and Dr Marizah Minhat, co-director of the International Centre for Management and Governance Research, Edinburgh Napier University.

They talk about these government-linked firms and the role they play in our politics. Finally, they explore how much we spend on these firms, particularly salaries.
