How much control do Malaysian women really have over their own bodies?

SIS Forum Malaysia’s recently launched its report following a national study to measure bodily autonomy in Malaysia, examining women’s ability to make decisions about their health, relationships, safety and future.

But beyond the numbers, what does the report reveal about power and about who gets to make decisions about women’s bodies? Why does this matter?

Astro Awani’s Melisa Idris talks to Rozana Isa, the executive director of SIS Forum Malaysia, and Dr Vilashini Somiah, a senior lecturer with the gender studies programme at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya.
