The Parliamentary Service Bill 2025, which has since been passed with amendments, aims to re-establish the administrative autonomy of Malaysia’s Parliament, a status that was altered when the original act was repealed in 1992.

Prof Wong Chin Huat, deputy head of strategy at the Asia headquarters of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, shares his perspective.
