From 2024 until now, only 89 Rohingya individuals were involved in crime, Inspector General of Police Khalid Ismail said.

Put another way, only 0.02% of crime cases involved the Rohingya, he added.

The Malaysian police chief urged the public not to spread negative narratives on social media, calling for calm amid concerns that online sentiment could inflame racial tensions.
