Activists from Fossil Free London disrupted a Republican Overseas UK dinner in Windsor celebrating US President Donald Trump’s state visit. The event took place at the Guildhall, just minutes from Windsor Castle where Trump is being hosted by King Charles.
Protesters chanted, “If you drill baby drill, how many will you kill?” and held banners reading “Oily money kills” before being removed. Some were slapped and punched by attendees.
Director Robin Wells said Trump’s fossil-fuel agenda could “kill billions”, citing warnings from the insurance industry that climate breakdown could leave almost half the world’s population dead by 2050.
The protest comes as the UK government prepares a decision on the Rosebank oil field, and days before a mass London demonstration against Trump’s visit.
