Professor Nazari Ismail talks to Aliran’s Tong Veng Wye about his recent article for Aliran, Free Palestine, free the world, which analyses the situation in Palestine as a manifestation of broader global imperialism, settler colonialism and white supremacist racism.
Tong, the coordinator of Palestine Solidarity, Penang, highlights how modern geopolitical violence and economic blockades against nations like Iran, Venezuela and Cuba mirror the patterns of oppression observed in Palestine.
Ultimately, he encourages people in Malaysia to move past communal divides and adopt a universalist approach of “right thinking, right speech and right action” to stand in solidarity with all victims of systemic injustice.
