Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat on Tuesday, 1 July, expressed “no regrets” after exactly six years of leading Malaysia’s judiciary.
She acknowledged that public responses in recent months and speeches by lawyers at her final court sitting suggest she has “to an extent been able to restore public confidence in the judiciary” – a legacy she hopes will continue under her successor.
