How the Universal Periodic Review will assess Malaysia’s human rights record

Malaysia will soon have its human rights performance reviewed by countries around the world at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva through a process called the Universal Periodic Review.

The Coalition of Malaysian NGOs in the review process (Comango) recently organised a media briefing to provide an overview about the process.

BFM speaks to Ryan Chua, programme director at Pusat Komas, about what this process will involve and why it is important.
