On 27 September, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob unveiled the 12th Malaysia Plan in Parliament to be implemented over the next five years. The blueprint outlines the Malaysian government’s socioeconomic plans and aspirations for the country.

But how much of the plan focuses on gender equity and equality? How much does it focus on empowering women?

BFM discusses this issue with Kiran Kaur, an advocacy officer with the Women’s Aid Organisation, and Tengku Nur Qistina, a researcher with the Institute of Strategic and International Studies Malaysia.
