Custodial deaths need to end

File photo: themalaymailonline

A Ganapathy recently died after being hospitalised for suffering injuries while in police custody, adding to an unsettling list of custodial deaths.

BFM first hears about Ganapathy’s case from his lawyer, K Ganesh. The other speakers are Suaram project coordinator and Suhakam commissioner Jerald Joseph. They discuss the larger issue of deaths in prison and how the proposed independent police complaints and misconduct commission would help in working towards better law enforcement.
