The 27th national congress of Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) was held in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, on 25-27 July.

The congress, themed Kuasa Ketiga, Kuasa Kita (Third force, our force) was attended by around 150 delegates.

BFM speaks with Arveent Kathirchelvan, a central committee member and coordinator of the policy research bureau of the socialist party, PSM. They discuss some of the key motions that were passed at the congress touching on healthcare, pension and housing.

They also look at the various challenges faced by the left in the country, electoral politics and how PSM plans to elevate class consciousness and break through the wall of racial and religious politics that’s holding the country back.
