Ten years ago, on 9 July, some 50,000 ordinary Malaysians gathered in the streets of Kuala Lumpur to demand clean and fair elections. Many took a great personal risk to take part in the rally – gassed, chased, beaten up or arrested by the police.
The Bersih 2.0 webinar features past and present Bersih 2.0 chairpersons and key activists to reflect on that momentous turning point in Malaysia’s history and its successes and challenges.
