Witnessing (awakening of the soul)

Spirituality was once free and dynamic - AVI-ACL/PIXABAY

A poem by Nasir Hashim

In times of turmoil
take a solemn
transient breather

When you see
something
interesting and
beautiful
Be it animal, insect, scenery or a thing
Don’t ever be
dogmatic
Don’t try to
analyse it
Don’t conclude its
origin
Just observe it….
appreciate it
to the full
Follow its
movement as it
flows within your
mind’s eye

Lose yourself in the
witnessing and
trouble freezes
just a wee bit
longer

Then calmness
reigns with untold
pleasures
As glowing moving
images of beauty
and majesty
smilingly
nudge your way
Then your focus
sharpens and your
intellect frees
itself from
adulterated
bondage

So … spiritual bliss
smiles again
to welcome your
presence
Coaxing you to
unclutter your
trapped being

And … dear ones
witness and
breathe awhile
longer
And mount the
impossibles
