Set up ‘hall of shame’ for infamous cases of corruption

It is time for corrupt leaders to be permanently exposed for public shaming

Wipe out corruption in Malaysia - BENEDICT LOPEZ/ALIRAN

With such an unending list of corrupt politicians and business leaders, perhaps it is time for Malaysia to open a centre that showcases all the crimes against the nation and its people.

Such a ‘hall of infamous crimes of corruption’ could be officially opened in the capital to commemorate independence. It could be a museum of sorts that showcases all the convicted criminals sentenced by the justice system.

Surely, the revenue from the entrance fee to such a place of learning would be enough to pay for its upkeep.

It is time for all corrupt politicians, corporate leaders, business people and those entrusted to safeguard the good name of their respective institutions to be permanently exposed for public shaming.

In a world where there are so many ways to ensure a cleaner and ethical nation, those who still dare to cheat or profiteer at the expense of the people are the worst criminals.

Look at the growing list of politicians, top business people and civil servants suspected of cheating and being paraded in the courts. Look at how some of them are desperately fighting their convictions. If found guilty, they should be showcased for posterity.

A hall of shame would teach people that the crime of corruption against the nation and its people does not pay. Such a hall would put fear in the hearts of those who have no qualms about taking cover behind the name of God.

Hopefully, the prime minister will respond to this idea, which will surely gain the support of the people, many of whom are in despair over the rising number of corruption cases.

Hall of Shame….. to them it’s the Hall of Fame. Somehow corruption has reached even to the highest level. There is now no one to check it. …
