Speculation is swirling that moves are afoot to topple the “unity government” soon.
Plots were reportedly hatched when the unity government was formed. The villains in this conspiracy apparently were the sore losers in last year’s general election. They thought that they would win handsomely – but lost disgracefully.
They were the ones who precipitated the general election. They couldn’t wait for the last Parliament to complete its full term in 2023 because they were feverishly convinced that the tide of fortune was with them and that it would lead them to a sweeping victory. So an early election was conceived and forced on to the people in 2022.
The forced election took place on 19 November – almost a year before the last Parliament’s tenure was to expire. But contrary to their expectations, and to their utter disappointment, they failed to realise their dream and surprisingly lost.
Their loss turned out to be a gain for Pakatan Harapan. Thus, Anwar Ibrahim became the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia after cobbling together a unity government. He was sworn in on 24 November.

This time around, there was no Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the stumbling block to prevent Anwar from becoming PM. Unlike in the past, there was no complot to wreck Anwar’s destiny.
Those used to power and position are lost and helpless when they are powerless. To regain their positions of influence in order to lord over the rest of us, they have to scheme and plot to seize power. This is what they are aiming to do.
It is just five-and-a-half months since the unity government was formed. It is such a short span of governance for it to be judged seriously and honestly. Yet, there is a move to topple this government in a greedy attempt to grab power.
In an attempt to justify their action, they come up with all sorts of excuses – mostly picayune, trifle and silly. They don’t care if they look ridiculous in their assessment of the performance of the unity government.
These smart alecs couldn’t solve the serious and compounded problems of the nation – poverty, joblessness, economic stagnation and erosion, the threat to unity and harmony by unscrupulous politicians, the religious bigotry and narrow-mindedness that was a threat to our peace – when they were in power for 32 months.
Now these very failed politicians expect all these problems to be solved in just over five months! Honestly, are they being realistic?
Be that as it may, the prime force behind the “Sheraton Move” in 2020 – the current Selangor Perikatan Nasional chief Azmin Ali – quotes the Federal Constitution to justify the changing of a government.
According to him, “Changing the government and the leadership at the federal level is not anything new or something that cannot be done, as the Constitution allows for a government to be changed when it fails to fulfil the rakyat’s aspirations.”
True, when the government fails to deliver, it deserves to be thrown out! But who got thrown out in 2022 in an election that was wilfully forced on voters by Azmin and those in cahoots with him?
The people decided that you and your gang failed to govern the country to bring peace, prosperity and economic progress to ease the burden of long-suffering poor people. That was why you were replaced when you failed the voters while you were in power for 32 months. You had more than two-and-a-half years to solve the country’s problems and yet you failed miserably.
Now Azmin has the gall and the temerity to claim, “The rakyat’s complaint today is that the government is unable to solve their problems.”
Which “rakyat” is Azmin referring to? By and large, many Malaysians are happy with Anwar. They are satisfied with PH’s governance in this short period of five-and-a-half months.
Those who are impatient to grab power are the ones who let the people down and who were shown the exit by the voters for not living up to their expectations. Many people have more common sense to realise that miracles cannot be performed in less than six months. It’s you people who lack common sense and who are not rooted in hard reality to realise and accept that many are happy with Anwar’s government.
The trouble-makers must be punished and thrashed in the coming state elections. Their parties must be defeated resolutely as a prelude to their political demise. For the future and for the wellbeing of the nation, voters must act so that a caring, people-friendly party will set the agenda for a prosperous Malaysia.
We are reminded of this quotation: “Hypocrisy is the audacity to preach integrity from a den of corruption.”
AGENDA RAKYAT - Lima perkara utama
- Tegakkan maruah serta kualiti kehidupan rakyat
- Galakkan pembangunan saksama, lestari serta tangani krisis alam sekitar
- Raikan kerencaman dan keterangkuman
- Selamatkan demokrasi dan angkatkan keluhuran undang-undang
- Lawan rasuah dan kronisme

Chairman Mao Tse-tung made a superb analysis before the 1949 takeover by the C
hinese Communist Party (CCP). Pity I have filed it somewhere and cannot retrieve it.
It had a broad-based approach and then launched into the different strata of society
in 1949, even going to the thinking of the different sections of society such as the
Koumintang operatives and the CCP functionaries in the villages, towns, counties
and provinces.
Coming just before the epic takeover of the whole of China, except Taiwan, the English
translation is still considered a solid and monumental analysis by Western political
scientists and sociologists.
