Gullible politicians aplenty

Why don’t some of our local politicians who claim to have acquired foreign degrees demonstrate how forward-looking they are by associating with the learned and the wise, wonders JD Lovrenciear.

Why are some of our Malaysian politicians so gullible?

One says he was a victim of fraudsters after facing an avalanche of exposes over multi-billion dollar scandals.

Another hugs and patronises a preacher who is wanted for criminal charges in a foreign land.

Another keeps lambasting the Jews when even superpower China guards its tongue.

And they all use religion as their weapon of political power not knowing every religion has multiple schools of thought worldwide, including Islam.

And they take cover behind the army of a majority race sensationalism about its rights – without knowing that minorities are the defining factor worldwide in ensuring global trade opportunities and balances.

Why don’t these politicians instead court scientists and learned philosophers the world over?

Why don’t these local politicians who claim to have acquired foreign degrees demonstrate how forward-looking they are and showcase their ability to keep company with learned, wise, knowledgeable and progressive captains of industry?

Instead some of them appear proud to be associated with ‘Mat Rempits’, seedy wheelers and dealers, and ‘consultants’.

Something to think about really.
