A dozen days into the new year and we are discovering new high-powered initiatives to rescue the nation’s most notorious white-collar criminal from the restrictions and rigours of a prison stay.
Are we to stay silent to stay safe on this grave development?
What is the use of publicly funded institutions like the judiciary and law enforcement agencies to combat crime and injustice if a convicted criminal can be accorded such extraordinary consideration, privilege and protection?
Is our society now so forgiving of the worst white-collar criminals?
Today, we should perhaps reflect on these developments and ask ourselves if all those values that nurtured us – such as good conduct, honesty, hard work, integrity, respect for the law and sacrifice – are under threat.

Is it not a worldwide culture and practice where extent and degree of investigations and penalties if and when given may vary to depend on the position or status of the suspect and the ordinary people may have adapted and accepted this on the reason that their comments may have little chance of any positive change but may even have adverse impact on their own lifestyle including safety? This shouldn’t be happening. He’s a convicted criminal and he he is not even repenting for his crimes. If he’s accorded special privileges then other criminals should also get it. Why don’t we start an online petition to deny him the privileges.
Will your petition proposal not be misunderstood … by his supporters? Bless all
