It was reassuring to hear Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim calling once again for the need to eradicate ethnically divisive politics.
Anwar reportedly pledged to serve and lead all Malaysians regardless of race or background. He said racism should be shunned and the dignity of all ethnic groups should be elevated to make Malaysia successful, robust and great again.
We must credit the leadership of the “unity government” for its courage to openly confess that, despite over six decades of independence, the nation is still shackled to racism and religious divisiveness.
With the many recent incidents that have provoked ‘religious’ sensitivities, the government must now pluck up the courage to vigorously remove the seeds of the politics of destruction.
If Anwar Ibrahim succeeds in doing this in the months running up to the next general election, he and his party can be more certain of forming a stronger government at the polls.
This calls for the enactment of a political philosophy and for serious policy reforms. To say we are not ready is to surrender to the racism and religious bigotry which continues to be the theme of some political parties.

- Make it illegal and strictly punishable for politicians to manipulate and use race and religious matters to further their political influence
- Review and reform the structures that protect the cultural and religious obligations and traditions of all the communities in Malaysia. Create a healthier socio-cultural environment that will promote greater national unity
- Curb the influence and powers of any “little Napoleons” in ministries and government-linked companies who wilfully misinterpret government policies and operating procedures
If Anwar can work on the above suggestions, it will be the beginning of a new era for Malaysia.
- Tegakkan maruah serta kualiti kehidupan rakyat
- Galakkan pembangunan saksama, lestari serta tangani krisis alam sekitar
- Raikan kerencaman dan keterangkuman
- Selamatkan demokrasi dan angkatkan keluhuran undang-undang
- Lawan rasuah dan kronisme
Expect nothing , from this NATO PM other than distributing tax payers money to Garner political support.
I will go further than that.
A political party must allow each and every Malaysian the right to join; in other words, no one shall be denied membership in a Malaysian political party on grounds of sex, race, religion or creed. The name of a political party shall not contain any word that describe sex, race or religion.
[If that happens], UMNO, MCA, MIC and PAS will be immediately outlawed for having overstayed that usefulness and only multi-racial parties are allowed.
