Focus on getting our government to release classified 1MDB audit report

Maybe we should forget about pressuring the US to release the classified section of the 9/11 report and instead pressure our government to release the classified auditor general’s report on 1MDB, says Angry Malaysian.

I was amused to read the opinion ‘The ’28 Pages’ Dilemma’ about there being a powerful case for declassifying 28 pages of the Report of the Joint Inquiry of the US House of Representatives and the US Senate into 9/11.

While human rights and the right to know are universal rights, maybe we should forget about pressuring the US to release the classified section of the 9/11 report and instead pressure our government to release the classified auditor general’s report on 1MDB.

In fact, the US Congress is already considering/passing a resolution to mandate the release of the report for public consumption, notwithstanding that US interests and its economy might be hurt if billions of Saudi funds in the United States are withdrawn.

Will our Parliament similarly pass a resolution to mandate the release of the 1MDB report – and even if it does, will the report be released?

I wonder how they completed that report…for after all, our AG yet to give the required MLA permission to get necessary documents and financial information from financial institutions in foreign countries….
