Aliran is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim at the National Heart Centre (IJN) last night.
We will remember him as a brave firefighter who lost his life from injuries sustained in the line of duty at the recent Seafield temple fracas in Subang Jaya last month. He tried to do the right thing.
His death was an unnecessary tragedy. We hope those responsible for assaulting Adib and those who allowed it to happen are brought to account for their actions and punished.
Adib’s death is an irretrievable loss to his family and fiancé. Our condolences go out to all of them at this difficult time.
We call on the nation to stand united and remember and honour Adib for his professionalism. Let us not give way to the irrationality and violence which ended Adib’s life.
Rest in peace, Adib.
