About Tuck-Po
A visual and environmental anthropologist, Dr Lye Tuck-Po brings rare depth to the art of documentary photography.
With over three decades of fieldwork among the Batek of Pahang, the Penan of Sarawak and communities in Cambodia, she has built an extraordinary archive of images that bear witness to lives, landscapes and cultures in flux.
Photography, for Tuck-Po, has never been incidental to her research; it is central to it. Her 2025 book, Batek: A Visual Ethnography, is a body of work where the camera becomes as essential a tool as the field notebook.
