Talk: Climate change – Global challenges, local solutions

We are on the edge of a catastrophic climate crisis with an increased frequency of extreme weather events.

Climate change and environmental disasters caused by massive profit-seeking activities are endangering the survival of human kind on this planet. Yet, most government still pursue policies that are designed to serve the interests of corporations, to attract investors and to please developers while the environment is degraded.

What are the collective alternatives we have to confront the current environmental challenges? Should we feel helpless in the face of this crisis or are there local solutions that will enable us to adapt to – or even overcome – this looming crisis?
