Siasat hubungan perniagaan melibatkan ketua SPRM: Sudah 5,000 tandatangan

Gomez meletak jawatan selaku panel SPRM

Aliran has launched an online petition calling for the an investigation into the MACC chief’s business ties:

[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] Kami terkejut apabila mendapat tahu sarjana terkemuka, Dr Edmund Terence Gomez, meletak jawatan sebagai salah seorang panel perundingan dan pencegahan rasuah ditubuhkan Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia.

Jawatankuasa eksekutif Aliran

We are shocked to hear about respected scholar Dr Edmund Terence Gomez’s resignation from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s consultation and corruption prevention panel.

  • This and the revelations about possible conflicts of interest in the leadership of MACC require an immediate response from the parties concerned
  • They also require an open and independent investigation led by a bipartisan parliamentary committee. There must be no cover-up
  • We also demand that the MACC be moved out of the Prime Minister’s Department and placed directly under the supervision of a bipartisan parliamentary select committee

All this is essential for the MACC to gain public trust as an independent body capable of fighting corruption.
