A public forum discussing police accountability and what it is, related to the rules of law in our country will be held this Saturday, 7 April in Penang, followed by a legal training workshop the next day.

Forum – Rule of Law: Police Accountability and The Way Forward

This forum, co-organised by Edict, Suaram, Aliran and the Penang State Task Force on Deaths in Custody, will be officiated by Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy.

Legal training for lawyers and non-lawyers

The objective of this event is to provide training to lawyers and civil society groups on the procedures of handling death-in-custody cases, from the beginning of the post-mortem procedure until the end of court case.
