This was a presentation by Dr Ti Lian Geh during a joint press conference of Penang Forum and the Residents’ Association of Taman Sri Rambai / Taman Lau Geok Swee in August 2016.
In it, Dr Ti outlined the serious safety and environmental concerns that Paya Terubong residents face due to high-density hill development projects.
He highlighted issues such as dangerous mudslides, illegal blasting and inadequate drainage that threaten existing homes, drawing direct parallels to previous tragedies.
Ti’s presentation served as an urgent plea for sustainable, safe and responsible urban planning to protect both the environment and the lives of the community. But did anyone in power listen?
