Slapped with travel ban, Bersih leader gives prize acceptance speech – via video

Bersih 2.0 chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah was barred from leaving Malaysia to travel to South Korea to receive the Gwangju Human Rights Award 2016 on behalf of Bersih.

No proper explanation was given to Maria as to why the ban was imposed, except that the instruction was from Putrajaya.

This video was broadcasted during the awards ceremony.
