The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih) has been an integral part of Malaysia’s political fabric for more than a decade now. Since the mid-2000s,
Bersih has been pushing for electoral reforms, and led some of the most iconic and important protests in this nation, which ultimately led to the downfall of the Barisan Nasional government in 2018.
Thomas Fann, chairperson of Bersih, joins BFM to reflect on Bersih’s journey through the years as well as the Federal Court’s upholding of the guilty verdict against Najib.
