Women’s groups alarmed by discovery of explosive device Siti Kasim’s car

Siti Kasim - BERITA DAILY

The Joint Action Group for Gender Equality (JAG) is alarmed at the discovery of an improvised explosive device in Siti Kasim’s car, which was found on 21 July, when she sent her car for service.

JAG is appalled by the serious threat to the life of a human rights defender. It is of grave concern that such an attempt was made to silence a critical voice who speaks out to protect and defend vulnerable communities.

JAG implores the authorities to seriously consider providing all necessary protection and support to ensure Siti Kasim’s safety and to take action against those responsible for this deplorable act.

We also call upon the police to conduct an immediate investigation into the matter and to take the necessary action against the perpetrators responsible for this.
