Persatuan Patriot Kebangsaan (Patriot) has nothing to do with books authored by Helmy Affendy, who claimed to be the founder of Patriots.

We wish to refer to a Malay Mail report dated 29 May 2019 titled “Buku Fixi drops author, founder of Patriots group who hoped for killing Malay liberals”.

The author in question is one individual named Helmy Affendy, who has authored several books that are deemed to be divisive to racial and religious harmony and that propagate violence towards Malays and non-Malay liberals.

After the news report, we have been flooded with queries if our Persatuan Patriot Kebangsaan (Patriot) is involved with the publications.

We wish to categorically state that Persatuan Patriot Kebangsaan (Patriot) has nothing to do with books authored by Helmy Affendy, who claimed to be the founder of Patriots, and owner of the portal The Patriot. Helmy Affendy is neither a member of Patriot nor have we been associated with him in any of his works.

Anyone who calls for the killing of “Malay traitors” and propagates violence towards Malays and non-Malays is a very dangerous person. Patriot urges the inspector general of police and the force to take action. Investigate, and if the law is broken, charge the culprit under the Penal Code.

Patriot reiterates our call for the police force and those in the National Security Council to maintain vigilance against any threat of terrorism. Files should be opened, and investigate anyone who writes, preaches, speaks and insinuates about killing to terrorise.

Strict measures and a zero tolerance to terrorism is our best hope of keeping mass killings and terrorism away from our country.

I do hope the present Minister of Home Affairs will act on the advice of the Patriot group and not let the stupid utterance of the previous DPM/Minister of Home Affairs cloud and restrain him from taking action. Remember how the latter took the threat by someone to slap a lady MP? To him a threat to harm somebody is not a crime until it is carried out?
