Patriot is gravely concerned with how politicians are repeatedly failing to align their political agendas with the people’s hopes for a greater nationhood.
The widespread perception is that our politicians are relentlessly dividing the people along racial and religious lines.
“In their quest for power within their political party hierarchies and in pursuit of being seen as the champions of political party agendas, all too often politicians trample on race and religious sensitivities,” Patriot president retired Zarazilah Mohd Ali said.
“To strengthen and nurture our nation-building agenda, it is crucial that politicians immediately abandon their ‘dark ages’ mindsets,” he warned.”
As has been repeatedly reminded by several of our rulers, calling on politicians and the rakyat to converge, collaborate and work in the best interest of our beloved nation’s future, Patriot appeals to all quarters to capitalise on this month of independence anniversary – Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations – to build bridges.
“With more than 60 political parties in the country, divisive agendas cannot be tolerated,” Zarazilah added.

“With more than 60 political parties in the country, divisive agendas cannot be tolerated,” Zarazilah added.
“As was rightly pointed out by His Highness, the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, finding fault, humiliating, spreading slander and conspiring to topple one another should stop so that the country can progress and the people are more prosperous.”
Patriot demands an immediate end to “politicking with such insidious plots”.
Patriot welcomes all politicians to join hands with the people to take an inclusive path towards better nationhood.
“Let us capitalise on this month of Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations to make a significant shift away from divisive politics,” the Patriot president appealed. – Patriot
