In the traditional Malay art of self-defence there are two distinguishable forms. One is known as silat bunga (decorative movements) and the other is known as the silat pendekar (combative movements). Rustam Sani sees some parallels with the ongoing battle of wits and wills between the prime minister and his predecessor.
