Cecil Rajendra came up with this little poem to warn parents to keep a sharp eye on their children.
Invasion of the El-gee-bee-Tees!
Parents, Teachers, good Neighbours
Listen!
Lock up your sons & your daughters.
The El-gee-be-Tees are coming …
The El-gee-be-Tees are coming …
They’re coming to gobble up your children.
The male of the species
are easy to tag
in their tight-fitting
V-neck T-shirts
& over-sized hand-bag.
The females are less discernible
mingling in malls
to yak, text & giggle
exclusively
with members of the own sex.
But don’t be fooled by
this innocent behaviour
They pose a grave threat
to our country’s moral fibre.
Parents, Teachers, good Neighbours
Listen!
Lock up your sons & your daughters.
The El-gee-be-Tees are coming …
The El-gee-be-Tees are coming …
They’re coming to gobble up your children.
(The El-gee-be-Tees are a group of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender aliens from outer space. Guidelines on how to spot and avoid them were handed out at “Educational” parent/teacher seminars in the country.)

One can take this poem in various ways. It may be tongue-in-cheek, since being gay is not always due to external factors but is due (according to some scientific and medical sources) to biological factors. So, locking up teenage children is no solution to their realization that they are gay, if they happen to be so. The LGBTi are not aliens from space but also human beings. As this is so, they should be accepted as such and not alienated by society. The current abuse of LGBTi by so-call law enforcers, and others in society should not be made fun of. If such cruelty was done to other non-members of this community, or even animal,s it would clearly be a violation of human rights and dignity, or animal cruelty. Not being a member of the LGBTi community doesn’t give anyone a right to abuse them or violate their human rights. Pointing fingers at the LGBTi community can only be seen as hypocrisy, particularly when certain non-LGBTi individuals actually exploit members of the LGBTi community for their own entertainment, pleasure and enrichment. Society is less human by condemning the LGBTi community and applying double standards to the claim and exercise of human rights.
